Poschinger Art Nouveau style Glass Purple Spots 'Fleur' Vase
c. 1960
Produced by Freiherr von Poschinger, Frauenau, Germany
H20*17*17 (cm)
Poschinger Glass is made in Frauenau, Germany. which is the only German glass manufacturer specialising in custom manufacturing, and is one of the oldest family-run firms in the industry. The first glass foundry bought by the family dates all the way back to 1568, and fifteen generations of sons have run the business since then.
Over all these years, the Poschinger family has maintained a reputation for creating some of the finest Art Nouveau glass in the world.
This flower vessel was made in the 1960s after the war and pays homage to the Art Nouveau style glassware masters (es. Loetz) of Bohemia (including German-speaking areas) around 1900.
Made of thick iridescent glass, it shows different changes when illuminated by light. The surface is decorated with raised purple lines and a metallic glaze. Perfect medieval condition, no bumps or damage.
